Blown to smithereens. Canyons, Oregon. 2.3.19 – Oregon Coast Surf didn’t pan out as usual. Kind of a long shot but since there was an active ground swell it’s always worth a look. Absolutely beautiful day on the coast though. Kinda windy by the waterline but up in town it was nice. Instead, I scored a pretty good sesh at LC Skatepark having it all to myself with some pine needles. Great way to try out the new deck and wheels. So stable and fast, can’t wait to really zero in on carving that 12’ wall this summer.

The Madness Goya 1.27.2019 – PDX Finally found the sickie perfect board I’ve been looking for. I’m such a picky m-fer I must have looked through 7-8 shops in Cali and Oregon and maybe 40-50 decks until I finally found it. The Madness Goya. 9.5”x32” with extreme concave, flared wheel wells, small nose and big-ass kick tail. Also scored a new set of Bones full conicals 58mm. The only thing carrying over of course are my trucks and 1/8” risers. The Lipstick 9”x32” Hybrid with 56mm wheels wasn’t cutting it. Needed a real bowl riding board so I can tackle those 11.5’ walls with confidence. Took her out this Sunday and sure enough – EPIC! So frickin’ fast with the best control and no threat of wheel bite whatsoever. Could probably put on 60mms if I wanted to. What really sold me are the little notches on either side of the tip. Absolutely perfect for grabbing. See my insta post for the full lay down on this pup.

Days and days of this all winter so far!

The winter that Oregon forgot
1.14.19 – Gabes

Christmas Day. New Year’s Day. Today, yesterday and the day before. Sunny, dry, fiftiesish and magnificently beautiful. This winter is a far cry from last. I skated so much over the weekend I was demoed today. Much more like a California winter. Rain here and there but plenty of dry and sunny days. The Chinook Winds have been relentless this fall and winter as well. I have missed so many good days of surf I could fucking cry and this last weekend was no exception. 10 feet every 18 with 10+ knots E wind. And I had the nerve to complain about the surf here earlier this year. Since I had my car totaled at Eddy B’s, I can’t get out to the coast right now. Nobody wants to surf either. Met several people who say they surf but when I send out the text, the “Read” nor yes reply ever comes. To make up for it I’m going to score a sweet old truck this spring and set it up Surfari big time. Then, Mexico this summer. This weather already has me plotting out this year’s Surf & Skate Tour 2019 – an all-time adventure from here to Cabo and back. Wonder if I could find any takers? When you look out the window lately you mistakenly think its summer and can just run outside and do anything. Such a nice break from the hellacious winters I have endured here like my first in 2005.
